Abstract

Image segmentation is to partition an image into several regions based on feature of the image. Image segmentation is used in general to locate objects and boundaries in images. Color segmentation approach is based on indeterminate segmentation which works in different color spaces.  In this proposed work the first stage is, colors in the image are segmented into several region based on color. Image pixel colors are replaced by their corresponding color class labels, thus display a segmentation map of the image. This can be used to differentiate regions in the image based on color. Second stage is, Otsu method is used to segment the color into distinct region in the image. So that object in the image can be easily identified based on color.
