Assessing farmer perception towards Internet based intervention: an empirical study

Sudeepa Banerjee

Abstract

The aim of this study is to assess the farmer’s perception of e-choupal in rural Uttar Pradesh. Cross-sectional data on farmer’s overall perception and individual components of e-choupal have been collected from 150 farmers in the year 2009.

A multiple regression analysis has been performed on data by taking into consideration overall perception as dependent variable and individual components as independent variables.

Results reveal individual components have significant impact on overall perception of e-choupal.

Findings will help managers formulate better policies as well as estimate the impact of individual components more precisely, leading to better utilization of resources.
