AN EMPIRICAL STUDY ON COMPENSATION SYSTEM AND POLICIES ADOPTED IN SELECT IT COMPANIES IN BANGALORE

Abstract


Employee satisfaction is one of the most important aspects in the organization that cannot be ensured without proper compensation management system. The present work is based on the study of compensation system and polices  in select IT companies in and around Bangalore city. IT companies employee very much need strong compensation management systems so that software company   can achieve rapid growth at national as well as international level. The study aims at knowing  the compensation system and policies implemented in IT companies and whether current compensation system and  policies  are   able to attract, retain the existing employees,  whether it is effective, whether the present employees are satisfied with current compensation policy or not, whether quality compensation policy is being maintained in IT companies or not. Most of the employees feel that the present compensation system and policies  are  able to attract, retain the employees. It is found that overall employee satisfaction with the current compensation policy of the bank is low.. It is found that most of the employees feel that there is a  match between individual objectives and objectives of compensation of IT companies. The present study has used  primary data by collecting  responses through a predesigned questionnaire using the selected variables of fixed pay system, variable pay system, balanced debt system, stay with even area labor market, stay ahead of labor market and stay with even industry pay practice  and distributed among three hundred selected respondents among various IT companies operating in and around Bangalore city.  The collected data was analyzed using Structural Equation model with the help of  AMOS software.
