AWARENESS AND EXECUTION OF HAND WASHING PRACTICES OF CONSUMERS IN SOUTHERN DISTRICTS OF TAMIL NADU

Abstract


The main objective of the study is to examine the awareness and execution of hand washing practice of consumers in southern districts of TamilNadu. The consumers (n=951) are randomly selected to represent in southern districts of Tamil Nadu. Both male and female respondents have the same attitude towards hand washing practices. There exists a positive relationship between safe cooking practice and safe consumption of food. It is concluded that the time taken to hand wash is the same for all respondents in different educational levels. Government should insist the public about proper handwashing practices through school, college level education and primary health centers.
