ROLE OF WORK LIFE BALANCE AND JOB SATISFACTION AMONG THE WOMEN EMPLOYEES OF STATE BANK OF INDIA IN AND AROUND CHANDIGARH

Abstract


Balance between the work-life and the professional life is a contemporary issue. Today, in the era of globalization and cut-throat competition, the deadlines are getting tighter and an individual’s job is not only to match the deadline but also to give quality output. Due to this work pressure, it becomes increasing difficult to maintain a proper balance between work and family life. especially for the working women’s who are the primary caretakers of their family, children’s and old dear ones. Bankers are under constant pressure to meet ambitious goals to sign up customers for new accounts and services and spending stressful days. This quantitative study aims to explore impact of work life balance on the job satisfaction among the women employees of State Bank of India in and around Chandigarh. Scope of this study is limited to the female employees of State Bank of India in and around Chandigarh. Findings from this study are relevant to the sample population of women employees of SBI bank in and around Chandigarh and may not be generalizable to the entire employees and banks.  Findings from this study may help organizations, managers and business owners to recognize the importance of employees’ work life balance and job satisfaction.
